Turbocharger Underboost Condition
Actual boost fell below what the computer commanded. One of the most common diesel codes — and usually a cheap boost leak or a carboned VGT rather than a dead turbo.
Take this seriously. It can trigger a power derate or lead to damage if you keep driving — get it diagnosed promptly.

- Power loss / limp mode
- Whistle under load (leak)

- Boost leak (cracked CAC hose, loose clamp)
- Sticking VGT vanes
- Clogged intercooler
- Wastegate stuck open
- Boost sensor caked in soot

- Boost-leak test the intake first (highest-value check)
- Inspect the VGT/actuator for sticking
- Check the boost sensor reading
- Inspect the intercooler and clamps
