Terms of Service

The ground rules for using The Wrench Bros: how the platform works, payments and the platform fee, technician independence, and the limits of remote diagnostic help.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and The Wrench Bros ("we", "us", "the platform"). By creating an account, confirming your email, or using the platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and — depending on your role — the Liability Waiver (vehicle owners) or Technician Services Agreement (technicians).

If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. What The Wrench Bros is (and is not)

The Wrench Bros is an online marketplace that connects vehicle owners with independent automotive technicians for paid, remote (phone/voice) diagnostic guidance. We also host a vehicle marketplace, reviews, and community forum.

The Wrench Bros is NOT a repair shop, is not a licensed automotive service provider, and does not itself diagnose, inspect, or repair vehicles. Technicians are independent third parties, not our employees or agents. We do not guarantee the quality, accuracy, or outcome of any technician's advice.

3. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep your password secure. You are responsible for all activity under your account.

We require you to confirm your email address. Certain activities — including starting a diagnostic — are unavailable until your email is confirmed.

4. Nature and limits of remote diagnostics

Diagnostic help on the platform is advisory and is delivered remotely, based only on the information you provide (symptoms, codes, photos, descriptions). A technician cannot physically see, road-test, or inspect your vehicle and may not have complete information.

Any guidance is a starting point, not a definitive diagnosis or a directive to perform repairs. You are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to act on it, and for having safety-critical work performed by a qualified in-person professional. 5. Payments, rates, and platform fee

Technicians set their own rates (per-minute, per-call, or hourly). Diagnostics are pay-as-you-go: you authorize payment for the time and services you use. Prices are shown before you commit to a call.

The Wrench Bros charges a platform fee equal to 20% of each paid technician engagement; the technician receives the remaining 80%. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor. You authorize us and the processor to charge your selected payment method for amounts you incur.

6. Technicians are independent contractors

Technicians are independent contractors who control how they provide their services. The Wrench Bros does not employ, supervise, direct, or control technicians and is not responsible for their advice, conduct, qualifications, or omissions. Any contract for diagnostic services is between you and the technician.

7. Marketplace and listings

Vehicle and parts listings are posted by users. The Wrench Bros does not own, inspect, endorse, or guarantee any listing and is not a party to any sale. Transactions, inspections, and transfers are solely between buyer and seller. Verify everything independently before buying.

8. Reviews, forum, and conduct

You agree to post honest reviews and to keep community content lawful and respectful. Do not post anything fraudulent, harassing, infringing, or unsafe. We may moderate, edit, or remove content and may suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

Do not attempt to take paid engagements off-platform to avoid fees, and do not misrepresent your identity or qualifications.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The platform and all services are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that diagnostics will be accurate or that any problem will be identified or resolved.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, The Wrench Bros will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any damage to vehicles or property, personal injury, or loss arising from your use of the platform or any technician's advice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid through the platform for the engagement giving rise to the claim. Vehicle owners should also read the separate Liability Waiver.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Wrench Bros and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the platform, your violation of these Terms, or actions you take based on diagnostic guidance.

11. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, ban, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe create risk for users or the platform. You may stop using the platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (payments owed, disclaimers, limitations, indemnities) will survive.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the platform will be the state and federal courts located in Washington, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted with a new effective date and, where required, re-presented for acceptance. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
