Privacy Policy
Version 1.1 · Effective June 14, 2026
What The Wrench Bros collects, how we use it, how call recordings are handled, who we share data with, and your rights.
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how The Wrench Bros collects, uses, and shares information when you use the platform. By using the platform you agree to this policy.
2. Information we collect
Account and profile data: name, email, password (stored only as a secure hash), role, and — for technicians — bio, rates, specialties, and certifications you choose to provide.
Vehicle and case data: vehicles you add, the symptoms, fault codes, descriptions, and any photos you submit for a diagnostic case.
Communications: messages, forum posts, reviews, and — where calling is enabled — call metadata and recordings of diagnostic calls.
Payment data: processed by our third-party payment processor. We receive transaction records (amounts, status) but do not store full card numbers.
Usage and device data: log data such as IP address, browser/user-agent, and timestamps, including those recorded when you accept legal agreements.
3. How we use information
To operate the platform: create accounts, match owners with technicians, run diagnostics, process payments and payouts, and provide support.
To maintain trust and safety: verify emails, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate content, and enforce our Terms.
To keep records of consent: we retain the IP address, user-agent, timestamp, and document version associated with each legal agreement you accept.
To improve the service and, where permitted, to communicate with you about your account.
4. Call recordings
Where in-app calling is enabled, diagnostic calls may be recorded and stored to support quality, dispute resolution, and safety. You and the technician will be notified that a call may be recorded. Do not share information on a call that you do not want recorded. Recordings are retained for a limited period and access is restricted.
5. How we share information
With the matched technician (or, for technicians, the vehicle owner) to deliver the diagnostic.
With service providers that process payments, sync invoices/accounting, send email, or host the platform, under contracts limiting their use of the data.
For legal reasons: to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Payment information
Card and bank details are collected and stored by our PCI-compliant payment processor, not by us. We use tokens and transaction identifiers to manage billing and payouts.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use a small number of first-party cookies. An essential cookie keeps you signed in. A first-party analytics cookie (named "tgl_vid") assigns your browser a random identifier so we can measure site traffic and understand which channels bring visitors to The Wrench Bros.
Our analytics are first-party and run on our own servers — we do not use third-party advertising or tracking scripts, and we do not sell or share this data with advertisers. For each visit we record the pages viewed, the referring website and any campaign tags (UTM parameters) in the link you arrived from, your device type, and a coarse, country-level location. We do not store your full IP address in our analytics records.
We use this to produce aggregate dashboards — traffic, conversions, and marketing attribution — for operating and improving the platform. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings; if you block the analytics cookie you can still use the platform and we simply won't count your visit.
8. Data retention
We keep information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Financial and consent records may be retained longer where required.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to certain processing. Some records (such as financial or consent records tied to a legal agreement) may be retained as required by law. To make a request, contact us using the details below.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including password hashing and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and keep your credentials private.
11. Children
The platform is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
12. Changes
We may update this policy and will post a new effective date when we do. Material changes may be highlighted in the app.
