Exhaust Pressure Sensor Fault
The exhaust back-pressure (EBP) sensor signal is faulty. These sensors live in soot and commonly clog, sending a bad reading that affects EGR and emissions control.
Worth diagnosing soon — left alone, the underlying issue can grow into a bigger, costlier problem.
Common symptoms
- Reduced power
- Regen/emissions issues
- Check-engine light
Common causes
- Soot-clogged EBP sensor or tube
- Wiring/connector fault
- Sensor failure
How it's diagnosed & fixed
- Remove and clean the sensor and its tube
- Compare reading to actual pressure
- Replace the sensor if clogged or failed
